Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Canopi Logistics collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Canopi Logistics is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Our registered office is Rourke House, The Causeway, Staines TW18 3BA, United Kingdom.

If you have any question about this policy or about how we handle your data, email info@canopilog.com.

What we collect

When you complete a form on this site we collect the details you give us: your name, company, email address, telephone number, and any shipment details or message you choose to include. On the customs audit form you may also send us entry or invoice documents.

We also collect limited technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider records for security and to keep the site running.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use enquiry details to respond to you, prepare quotations and provide logistics, customs and warehousing services. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry.

Where the law requires us to keep customs and commercial records, our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

We only send marketing where you have asked for it, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only where it is needed to deliver a service to you: with carriers, airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, warehouse operators, customs agents, HMRC and other border authorities, and with our IT and hosting suppliers acting on our instructions.

We do not sell personal data. Where data is transferred outside the UK we rely on adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become business are kept for up to two years. Customs and commercial records are kept for at least six years, as required by HMRC.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@canopilog.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
